Graphix Explosion specialises in graphic design for print and web for small to medium sized businesses. We can help simplify your marketing under one roof. Some if our many products: Business cards, letterheads, flyers, brochures, posters, personalised calendar, large format scanning and printing, large format laminating, pull-up display banners for trade shows and exhibitions and photo printing on to canvas. We also supply branded promotional items such as pens, pencils, mugs, key rings, umbrellas and lanyards. All our work is covered by our 'Right first time and on time' Guarantee. Our Story so far…

Graphix Explosion first opened for business in 1995, specialising in graphic design services for the print industry. From starting out in the lounge room of owners Shane and Sharon Devlin’s home, the company has changed quite a bit over the years.

2002 – Vision Print Hawera is purchased to provide a Taranaki-wide print service

2003 – Aries Print purchase is completed. Graphix Explosion now employs ten staff working across two sites

2008 – Shore Print Hawera is bought from the retiring owners. The newly expanded company moves to new premises and rebrands as Graphix Explosion Hawera

2010 – The New Plymouth branch moves into purpose built offices at 254 Devon Street West and installs the latest Fuji Xerox C1000 digital printing press. This is the only one in the region and gives Graphix Explosion’s clients access to the highest quality digital printing currently available in New Zealand

2011 – Taranaki Chamber of Commerce Awards: Graphix Explosion recognised in the two categories entered:

  • Branding and Marketing Award – Commended
  • Medium Business Award – Highly Commended

2012 – Purchase completed of Plan Copy New Plymouth. This increases Graphix Explosion’s product range, which now includes:

  • large format colour scanning
  • large format printing and laminating
  • printing onto canvas, wall paper and sign boards
  • pull-up display banners for trade shows and exhibitions

2014 – PublishMe is bought from the retiring owners. Can now offer a full book design and printing service for writers who want to self-publish their work (PublishMe was subsequently sold in 2017)

At the Westpac Taranaki Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards Graphix Explosion entered four categories and were awarded in each one:

  • Brand Marketing, Design and Technology Excellence – Highly Commended
  • Service Industry Excellence – Highly Commended
  • Medium Business Excellence – Highly Commended
  • Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship Excellence – Commended

2015 – Graphix Explosion completes a major equipment upgrade by installing two top-of-the-line Fuji Xerox Versant digital printing presses. This means there is no delay in delivery times due to equipment failure and the company can now offer the highest quality digital printing currently available in New Zealand

A large format plan printer is also added to provide a broad range of printing and scanning options and a while-you-wait service on plan printing

2017 – Graphix Explosion rebrands as GRAPHIX – DESIGN PRINT WEB, collaborating with three other local businesses, all experts in their field.  This gives clients brand consistency across all media, all under the one roof, and introduces a suite of new digital marketing services:

  • Website design
  • Website development
  • Search engine optimisation (SEO) and digital marketing
  • Content writing for the web and print
